With all the seo experts and offline marketing experts as well as website designers on BHW, why isn't there any talk about creating a rival to Craigslist and beating it. So that we can promote our items without getting the ads banned or being tracked.

Craiglist is getting like facebook with there stupid rules and only wanting people to use real names etc.

Because everyone has tried. Even ebay with all their money have not been able to really get any market share from craigslist. They just have to large of a brand.

There is no CL alternative. Just accept it. If there was you were going to know as you know CL. I hate to admit but CL has the traffic.

Regards

go to MonsterLister.org/ its a new site but there are no restrictions or dumb rules, u can sell your stuff for free, it does not have the traffic craigslist has, but if we spread the word we can start using it instead of craigs, i have a couple of ads running there, u can even create buy now buttons within your ads to sell with your paypal, google checkout and other merchants u have, check it out

angieslist.com, lol (I see this crap on tv daily - commercials here in So Cal)

I've posted stuff on Oodle before, and gotten a good amount of replies. I know they don't come close to Craigslist in terms of traffic, but no website does.

CL users do not WANT you to have the opportunity to promote your items. They don't want your ads. That's one reason why they are so popular. I don't know what you mean by being "tracked", but if a marketer wants it, a craigslist user probably doesn't. That's the whole point.

CL will never require "real names' due to the undercurrent of sexuality that is the CL tradition. Primarily gay men looking for hook-ups and whores looking to make money, but also thieves selling property they've stolen and scammers selling broken shit as if it were working. It was founded in San Francisco. You think a bunch of married guys looking for the nearest glory-hole want to ask the question under their real name?

Backpage hasnt worked for me like craigs, i bought a fiverr gig for 80 ads on backpage, and i just got 1 click, it was strange

People are shooting it down, because they are either afraid to do it, or just jealous that they haven't that about taking on Craigslist and beating them or at least taking a huge part of the market from them.

I assume that is why the CL discussion was moved to the JR VIP section. It's sad because noobs should learn the RIGHT way to do things.
