Cracking China's Mobile Market

Hey, any app/game develops are interested or already trying luck in Chinese market? As I noticed it's a really vast and promising market with the the world's biggest smartphone population that you can hardly ignore. And it's still growing fast.


I think now is good timing to enter this market before it gets matured in future. I also notice the big success of the American game LOL here in China.


Would like to get some ideas about this market if anyone of you guys has any experience or opinion

Its a very tempting thing to go after, however, for me I'm going to focus on the US, Canada, and Europe. I can't speak or read any Chinese, so targeting their native app stores is a real pain (I tried). Even with Google translate its still confusing as crap. I think developers who can speak Chinese will have a huge advantage, because there is a pretty significant barrier to entry for English speakers. They could take good ideas and make a Chinese version and be pretty successful I think
 
I've tried to enter China market too, but it's really to hard for non Chinese speakers. Even with google translate I didn't publish any aplication because bad categorization :-(.

The best way is to partner with a Chinese developer I suposse.
 
Entering chinese market is not that easy.. Mainly language problem, The toughest language and still no good translator.
Ie you cannot translate English to Chinese easily. The other thing china has good developers already.
 
Yes but I suposse it's an interesting market. If you look for google there are some people that helps you to enter in China, I don't know the conditions. Someone has tried it?
 
OP Want to know the reality every Chinese business person reading this will be laughing at your naivety, the Chinese are as slick as lightning at doing business online...

You will never get into the Chinese market without a local partner as mentioned above...

But what was missing about the Chinese partner is that once he has picked your brains and methods he will drop the ex-pat partners and move forward taking 100% of the cake for himself/herself...

OP, unless you are Chinese yourself, you have 2 options, either learn Chinese till you are fluent (come live here for 1 year), or forget about it.

Dude they get most new high technology gadgets - smartphones - and apps et al...

Before they even hit Europe or the States...

All major Chinese cities have vast shopping malls full of shops selling gadgets - smartphones - and apps et al...
