What is CQS?
CQS is a classification system for Reddit users that identifies potential spammers or users who contribute less than positively to the platform. Each account is assigned a CQS based on a variety of signals, including activity history and actions taken against the account.
CQS has five levels:
- Highest
- High
- Moderate
- Low
- Lowest
This parameter has been used for quite a long time, but few people know how to increase it, what it affects and what actions can change its level.
---How is the CQS level assigned?
- When registering, the account is automatically assigned the Moderate level, which means moderate trust in the user.
- Email verification, social media linking and other basic actions increase the CQS level, but their impact is minimal.
---Actions that reduce CQS
1. Adding a link to your profile
- Strong decrease in CQS. If you add a link on a new account, the level will immediately drop to Lowest .
2. Changing the account status to NSFW- On a new account, it results in a downgrade to Low .
3. Deleting posts- Minor negative impact.
4. Posts removed due to auto-moderation- Slight decrease in CQS.
5. Publishing posts- Yes, this also reduces CQS, especially if the posts are of poor quality.
---Actions that increase CQS
1. Communication in private messages- It's unusual, but it really does increase the CQS level.
2. Replies to comments- It is important that you do not answer under your own posts.
3. Creating quality posts- Posts must receive a sufficient number of upvotes relative to the number of community subscribers.
---How do publications affect CQS?
Publishing posts can either increase or decrease CQS, depending on the quality:
- If a post is posted to a large community (e.g. one with a million subscribers) and only gets 5-10 upvotes, it will lower the CQS. Reddit will rate it as low quality.
- If a post is published in a community with 100k subscribers and gets 200-300 upvotes, the CQS will increase.
---Example of CQS increase in one day
The following was done on the Low level account:
- 7 comments created.
- Received about 20-30 karma for comments. After 17 hours, the CQS level changed to High , despite the account having NSFW status and a link in the profile. We have used this method on many accounts and the result has always been the same: CQS is effectively increased if the above conditions are met.
---Conclusion
The conclusions are based on dozens of tests. If you follow the above recommendations, you will be able to successfully manage the CQS level of your Reddit account.

Have you made this yourself? Is any of this verifiable from official Reddit publications?

Is there a way to see the CQS for an account?

What is certain is that it’s a great way to get accounts banned.

If you disagree, be specific. Say what is wrong & why.

To see your CQS, there is a subreddit that autocomments showing your CQS if you submit a post to it. Search reddit for "what is my cqs" or "how to see cqs" to find it.

And to make your ban easier.

I have an acc which I only use for negative comments, it should have the lowest but didn't see any effect on the account. I guess it is up to the mod team.

Late post but I saw two videos when I searched on YouTube the term "CSQ Reddit". I don't want to share those links so you can have a look at it yourself. I found something intriguing that wasn't mentioned in this post. Apparently upvoting a post (possibly comment) actually lowers your CQS at first. I don't know by how much but I guess when warming up, maybe don't upvote anything. This is likely because upvoting something makes Reddit think you're an upvote bot.

If you want to check your CQS privately create a subreddit and add the rules to the auto mod, that way no one can see and stalk your accounts

Don't Reddit Admins monitor private subreddits from time to time? Won't they eventually find your subreddit is sus if you have a lot of accounts posting there?

now its obvious they are monitoring upvotes for alleged"violence and threats" as botting.
