Hey,

Is it worth buying a domain for a zip submit poll type of website. Or should i just use blogger?

Or maybe get a domain name that doesn't apply to anything and have tons of sub domains??

Any thoughts? :)

yep buy a .info domain related to your poll site...it will increase your CTR if your using adwords :)

wow thanks for quick response. Thanks!

Well, I use generic domains and tons of subs.

Don't know that I'm the one to be giving advice on this topic at the moment though...lol.

i got a info domain and i'm doing polls for email/zip submits. my conversion sucks tho. i'm only paying about .10 for top position in Adwords so page is optimized.

here's what little i know (but please keep in mind i've lost in each and every campaign) which i'll be happy to share with you.
1 - target audience which are less educated. above all stay away from those political polls. these visitors will usually not fall for these types of offers. in other words, go after more hungry customers.
2 - don't give too much information away. always use a compelling question to make your visitors click. i'm not saying toy with their emotions but your goal is to push them to the offer landing page. let the offer page do its job.
3 - use content network. this is what i've been told but since i'm paying .10 in search i havent done anything tried the content network.

like i said i'm not turning a coin here so the above advise needs more tweaking.

thanks for keeping us posted. i'd like to try it if it works. someone else on BHW said conversion should be 15-20%. what's the rate you've been getting?

my thought right now though is that conversion value is so low for this sort of thing that it could be better to send that sort of traffic to a parked domain with high value keywords.

Have you tried using the above method with adbrite or other cheap traffic sources?
