I am now strarting to get some traffic to one of the sites that I have been doing SEO work on. Yesterday I got 23 hits on a banner. All you have to do is stick in a freakin' email address (supposedly) and I get paid.

Well, I can't believe that 23 people clicked on the banner and didn't put in an email address. Then I had my sister try it and it didn't convert. She only put in the email address but didn't fill out the information after.

Am I missing something???

hmm. i think she need to fill up some details, which CPA network is that? jsut curious.

I don't want to say, unless I'm sure that I'm looking at everything correctly. Putting out unsubstantiated claims suck. I promise when I get to the bottom of this, I will publish the details. I just feel like if I'm going to click on the banner, I'm going to put my email address in that little space and hit submit. Apparently 23 people don't think like I do.

Do CPA companies and advertisers shave leads: Yes

You have 23 clicks, that's just not enough data to claim anything at this time. I get lots of unconverting clicks. When you get around 1000 then you will have good data to use.

CPA companies may shave leads but it's not going to be all that noticeable unless they're seriously shady. I usually watch for my EPC to start slowly going down and switch offers.

Thanks Jericho, I think that's solid advice. I usually don't watch things so closely but I got a little antsy!!

23 clicks is almost 0. You need at least 100-150 clicks to be sure you'll get a lead. So start working and pumping traffic to your website before saying that cpa networks are shaving you ( even if they are :P)
