When creating a basic landing page for a CPA offer, do you prefer to 1. clone a site or use an 2. established CMS then edit it?

1. cloning
+seems up front versatile for choices that aren't generic looking
+easy
-black hat
-lots of text editor work
-cannot customise easily afterwards
-cannot update easily afterwards

2. CMS (wordpress etc)
-generic meh looking sites
+easily update alongside wordpress in the future
+easily customise with visual GUI

What do you guys prefer? What is your thoughts around this? Any SEO implications you see?

I think it depends how much you’ll need to customise it in the long run.

You could do a proof of concept by just cloning and then if the project is profitable switch to a CMS.

If you are going to be producing loads of content you’ll probably want a CMS.

Throw a bunch of garbage with bootstrap, remove excessive garbage, add 2 - 3 extra custom components. Loop all the crap like images and content data from some json object using JavaScript.

Redirect people there using thousands of random urls. Obfuscate code redirecting to landing page. Do some pseudo - cloaking.

Creating a landing page with WordPress is easier to customize and update later, while cloning a site might seem more flexible at first, it's riskier and harder to change later on.
