CPA/Affiliate Best Practice

When building and promoting affiliate sites for any topic that would be considered "shady" (ie, most of them) do most practitioners use their real names/bank accounts/etc when setting these up and directing traffic to them with tools like Adwords?

I understand that "shady" is a relative term, but do most people have a way of anonymously setting these up?

I'm new to the space (obviously) but it seems like promoting certain products, particularly those that make health claims, would open the door for a potential lawsuit.
