OK maybe I am paranoid but I truly thing my ISP (Cox Cable) is blocking BHW.

For the past 5 years I have had DSL and never had any issue accessing any site I wanted.

We move on June 1st to an earae that I could not get DSL so I switched to Cox Cable. Well sence that time I have had several occasions when I could not get access to BHW. I would repeatedly get 404 errors. so about 10 days ago I decided to try going through a proxy during one of those "down" time. To my surprise I pulled up the site and was able to log in 100% normally.

From that time forward I have been able to log in via proxy every time during those unexplained times I can't connect normally. What is odd though is that this happens totally random. I never know if I am going to be able to access the site with out a proxy or not.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Should I just always use a proxy from now on to access BHW?

If your ISP were blocking bhw (which makes absolutely no sense), it wouldn't just be blocked at certain times, it would be blocked all the time.

Also, a 404 error means that the you were able to communicate with bhw, but bhw could not find the file you requested.

Thanks for all the replies. Yes I know that Cox is not blocking me. but I really wanted to get some input and that was the best way I could descibe it.

All I know for sure is that I have not been able to connect with out a proxy all night. I also was unable to connect most of the day on Monday. I get everything from 404 errors to network time outs to bad gateway.

I have a friend on the aptly-named Cox in Arizona that has problems at random routing to his GoDaddy accounts and other websites. He was complaining about it today, and no he's not a member here. I think your primary issue is that they're a bunch of Cox suckers that don't have any idea of how to manage a network. But they're not blocking BHW.

404 errors would suggest that your getting as far as the BHW web server, for some reason the process isnt being requested properly, have you tried in a different browser?

Failing that it could be a dns hijack of some variety.

Yep I thought it might be my browser at first as well. So when it started happening more frequently I tried different browsers and operating systems. My primary OS is Ubuntu using FireFox. So I tried Opera, Arora, and Midori. It wold not load in any. Some would time out. Others would give a bad gateway.

I am on a duel boot systems with Windows 7 Ultimate RC. So I booted up in Windows and tried FireFox, IE 8, and Chrome. Again I still could not get through without using a proxy.

I am just at a loss and guess I will just have to use a proxy if this happens.
