Hi All,
I have been trying to find a solution (the quickest to deploy solution, but cost is not a big factor for this, though it is one) to share my screen on a laptop that is in my physical possession over the Internet with a trusted collaborator.
I do not need to receive keyboard or mouse input, or really any input from the collaborator, and I have an out of band method of communicating with the collaborator (I.e., presume I can have an encrypted , safe phone call w the collaborator where they tell me where to scroll click or what to type if needed).
The problem is, short of a “Gorilla clamp” (flexible holder) clamping my cell phone video camera to point to my monitor screen to allow for an encrypted live video chat (which currently is of poor quality and has physical limitations, due to my phone), I cannot think of or find a good device that will cleanly share the contents of my screen in real time without serious quality degradation. I basically want to Zoom screen share my screen in terms of functionality without installing or running a single thing for this purpose on the laptop that I am sharing from (so an external camera or, better yet, a special display that I can output to from the laptop (MacBook) but input into another computer, would be ideal).
I tried a GoPro for this but it doesn’t play nice for streaming from my personal MacBook (safe machine where I can install such software).
Can anyone think of something better than simply attaching a phone camera to the laptop screen and pointing it back towards the screen? Any good cameras that would operate well for this purpose? Something more creative and completely out of the box (KVM switch that won’t be detected on the protected machine)?
