I've recently bought a co.in domain the stats were decent with 32 DA and 36 PA and didn't have any spam
but recently, i read somewhere that if i have a co.in domain its useless for PBN is that true?

The domains not useless if your money site is in India!

Irrespective of where you're situated, an Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, French, German or whatever domain won't be useless, as long as they have decent backlinks.
