country specific TLD for more traffic ?

If I have a TLD for my local region and I buy more same name TLD for other countires (ex .co.uk) and hosting them on those countries servers and point them back to my main us pagw, will i get more conversions ?
will those page rank easier because of their local country extension.

let me rephrase that. Basically can you rank a site better by buying more EMD but country specific and hosting those domains in those countries and redirecting those domains to your main local page in the us?

ex.
xxx.co.uk and xxx.au and xxx.ca with redirects to xxx.com. xxx.com is your actual site and the country specific TLD are there to rank higher in those countries.

will this rope in more traffic ?



also will having these redirects raise my page in the serps ?

There's a contradiction in your description. You mentioned that you'd like to redirect the local domains to the main .com. And in the next sentence, you also mentioned that probably these local sites will get you more traffic on local search engine versions. If there's no .co.uk (since it redirects to .com), it isn't going to make a difference, will it? And no, the .com will not be ranked higher on google.co.uk because you have a .co.uk redirecting to the .com. Unless you work out a script by which non UK (or wherever) traffic automatically redirects to the .com, wherein you will certainly rank better.

I am not quite sure if the Google is going to punish (it's a bit different with the international SEO)you but it sure won't reward you. I understand what you want but you should try to make another approach to your problem. Solution is not in the TLD's, it is in quality content, quality on-page SEO and quality backlinks. If you master these 3 things your site won't need any kind of magic.
If you think your niche have low competition in these specific countries, and if you think you can take the 1st Google page by purchasing those TLD's your niche must have pretty low competition.
Anyway, just try to figure out how many competitors (real competitors) you have and try to crash their spine with the good SEO.
Furthermore, I don't think AU and UK have low competition on anything. So, I guess you will have to build a quality site (no copy paste) for both and this means double (triple) your SEO and time spent.
Having those domains just to redirect to your main domain won't hurt but it won't help either (in most of the cases).
