Hi

I am moving a website to a new domain, the target market for this website is Google UK.

So do you think .Co.Uk domain will be better than .Com domain ?

My opinion is, if I choosed .Com and targeted UK in Webmasters Tools will be equal to .Co.Uk

Looking forward to hear your opinion.

Yes, definitely. I would also consider .uk tld.

I disagree with that.

Bottom line is I would buy both .co.uk and .uk version of the domain and go live with the .uk one targeting UK in Webmasters Tools, and hosting the website on a UK based server.

Well if your target market is UK then obviously a .co.uk 'looks good'. I have seen a lot of websites that target that market use a .co.uk However, i can't see any harm in using a .com either. I doubt google would discriminate solely coz of the .co.uk.

Hi, from my experience in the UK market (in my niche) if youre only going to target the UK, then the .co.uk will be preferable than a .com.
I only use uk tlds and rank just fine and also see much more sites ranking with it than with .com but like somedevil said there will be no harm using the .com either.

If you want to rank locally, like for your city, then go with the CCTLD...
...if you see a possiility to go international, then go (spam filer f***k you)

Targeting only the UK market a .co.uk is best, a .uk is also a choice and I would take both.
targeting a .com to uk market either should not make any difference re ranking. If you look from a customer point of view uk (.co.uk or .uk) domain is better than a .com.
Cheers
Dan
