Hi everyone!

I've been "using" a porn tube called ******tube for quite a while now and, even though I read many threads on this great forum, I still don't get it : how do they make money out of it ?!
I mean, LiveJasmin does not pop up, there are no ads!

Do they get money from the links (to porn websites) to videos they provide ?
For example, if they put a link to a bukkake video from let's say xhamster, does xhamster give a share of the ads clicks they got ?

I'm really trying to understand, not in a business purpose but I'm currently writing a paper for school (college) about internet porn "industry" and this is one of the things I don't understand.

I've been searching the net for info.. So yeah, first post haha. I'm really sorry but I may even write a dissertation if the first paper is documented enough.

I definitely didn't invent it and I definitely and not trying to drive traffic to it.

I have read dozens of articles now and I totally get it with sites such as Xhamster, Xvideos, Youporn... I understand their paradigm. But I just don't understand how big tubes are holding their own, since they don't sell any content. It only redirects to websites such as Youporn. Do they get paid for this ?! Or is it a total economic disaster ?
Sometimes I may not understand every detail since English ain't my native language.

If I owned "*****tube", which I imagine makes thousand hundreds of views each week, I wouldn't be here, "advertising" for some people.

Then why did you drop the name? You could have made your point with well known tube sites. Instead you dropped an obtuse one. We're not rookie marketers here.

I dropped the name because in the different threads I read here, people just dropped the name! That's all.
Anyway, I "dropped the name", but I am still searching for an answer to my question...

Really? Bptst, I may be new to this forum, but I'm not new to Internet Marketing. If you have read ANY post on this forum, you would know that one of the fastest, easiest ways to SEO, and drive traffic to your site is with a forum link/name drop. Especially on a populated and alive forum like this one? Dude, that's like the first thing everyone learns after they stop trying to chew on the keyboard. And if you got hundreds of thousands of views (you got that backwards btw) then yes, you would still be here advertising, because advertising a site to KEEP thousands of views, is a full time job. You stop plugging your site and driving traffic to it, and the money stops.

Well, I'm new to Internet Marketing and to this forum so you're teaching me something here ;)

BTW, nobody knows how tubes manage to earn money ? Is it a pain in the *ss, a serious threat for "normal" porn websites ?
 
Some (of the legit tubes) get paid for advertisers (membership site owners) to put their videos and ads on the site. So they put watermarked videos on the websites, and display their ads beneath it.
Most of the tube sites also make money with ads, i.e. if you click on the site, a new website will pop up, or they display ads on videos, homepage, etc. etc.

There are a lot of ways to make money with tube sites :)
 
I run several tubesites and its all about ppc, advertizing free signups etc.... hard competition and takes alot of hard work to get good ranking.

These sites make money with advertising like any other site. Adult dating, live pay view web cam, adult products, etc

Tube sites are cancer for the industry. (Just look at all the membership site owners on gfy.com).

It's cancer as it's basically giving away content. A porn studio pays several hundreds/thousands for shooting a single video, and it obviously takes up several hours to days to shoot a single scene.
There are many illegal tube sites that illegally download content from membership sites, and let users stream it for free on their sites. They mostly aren't taken down yet, as they just claim that a user uploaded it, and hope it's all take care of by DMCA.
Although there are also legit tube sites, that pay for the scenes and legally upload them to their sites.

But the majority of tube sites are obviously using illegally obtained videos.
 
Inorder to make money on tubes, U need time, a new website have a small chanse of maing good money, but after been working on it for several months u can make realy good money on tubes, embed videos and so on from studios, this way u can keep it clean.
 
Bptst maybe do some research on a company called "manwin dot com" and "tubesites" and see how they got to be as big as they are today.
