Could video category play a factor ?

    I did some research on some keywords , they were universal , meaning you can post funny videos of people, video games , etc. ( all of them super high competition ) and it seemed like the only videos in the gaming category ranked for them were the ones with millions of views, yet there were videos with 20000 views but in categories such as comedy and entertainment that were ranked higher .

    Has anyone had experience with this ?

    Bumped I wish someone could answer this. To me is seems like genre could be a factor but not necessarily

    Yes of course its a factor if there played right through thats a high retention view and thats a factor.

    Yes and base on experience with dummy accounts.Read up on tagging and keywords YouTube.
    Adding wrong description keywords and tags can get you flagged as well not and not only by YouTube by users as well.

    How would u feel if u search for a documentary about serial killers and pewdiepie's videos shows up??
