Could someone clear this SB question for me???

Hey everybody,

Okay so I run SB on my local PC with public proxies for all jobs (Harvesting, fast poster, link checker whatever). But I'm on a 1MBit connection and for that, My SB operations take forever to complete.

My question is, will running SB on a VPS/dedicated server solve the problem? Will the speed improve?

Sorry boys, I'm such a noob when it comes to technical stuff

Yes of course a VPS/Dedi will be faster than your home PC, assuming it also have a faster connection, you should also make sure it has ample RAM and processing power for your needs

A average VPS will be soooo much faster than your 1Mb line.
Make sure you get 1GB+ RAM and you should be fine!

So what this means is that it doesn't depend on my Internet speed when I'm running SB on a VPS/Dedi right?

I can turn off my computer and plug out the modem, and it will keep running?

Yes.......

A VPS is hosted somewhere else its anther computer that you control remotely you could throw your computer off a bridge and your VPS would still be running.

Okay I've talked to a guy at XSServer.eu and they seem good. But what VPS do you recommend? I think WVPS3 is fine (2.60 GHz Processor, 1GB ram, Data transfer=Unmetered)
I will be running SB 24/7 on that VPS so do you recommend going for it?

You will always be limited by the speed of your proxy's though, regardless of the pipe your server is on.

Before I run my SB on my PC which has max 80 connections, because I only have 2 mbs. It can post up 160 blogs per minute. When I transfer to vps and I used 500 connections. It can post an average of 1000 blogs per minute. See the difference. BTW the price of vps that is good enough for sb range from $11 to $35.

in home PC's it does not matter how powerful ur physical machine is, the bottleneck is always the ISP. Move to a VPS and you will see a whole lot of diffrence, specially when the VPS are on 1Gbps uplinks.

Where as on VPS's and Dedi's the bottleneck is usually the processor, You would have a hard time maxing out a GBPS line, and to max out a 100mbps line with Xrumer you better have at least 8 cores
