Yeah I’d take a stable top 3 spot over hitting #1 for a few days and then dropping. Consistent traffic is what really matters.
Could ranking stability matter more than ranking position?

Right. Being ranked in the Top 3 is better than having a temporary rank of one. Consistent performance is better than sporadic gains.

Exactly. The long term visibility, traffic, click through rate, and conversions give a much better indication of success for SEO than rankings.

Agree.. I’d focus more on ranking stability than the highest position reached and consistent visibility over time usually stronger sign of real relevance & authority.

That’s right. It is far better to have sustained rankings and visibility than it is to spike.

Ranking stability is important but position still matters, a stable five ranking can be more valuable than briefly reaching first & dropping, consistent rankings usually make traffic & conversions more predictable

Absolutely. Consistent ranking among the Top 5 can be much more profitable since it guarantees steady flow of visitors and conversions.
