Absolutely agree. A temporary #1 ranking doesn't mean much if it disappears a few days later. Consistency over time is a much better indicator of whether the SEO strategy is actually working.

Yes, I agree with what you wrote. There are many reasons for the fluctuation and it won’t help you in getting the leads. A good number of leads will only come from stabilized rankings. I also have clients whose niches are gray and they want to run a shot period of time, it doesn't matter what technique we will use, but they want to show up on the top pages for the main keywords. It is not required in those cases.

I think stability is more useful to look at, especially when the goal is steady traffic rather than just hitting #1 once.
A page bouncing between #1 and page 2 would worry me more than sitting around #3-5 for months. At least with stable rankings you can get a better idea of what traffic and conversions the page can actually produce.

Exactly. Predictable traffic and improved SEO is better achieved through consistent rankings rather than short term ranking spikes.
Correct Stable placements between #3 and #5 may actually be more advantageous than erratic jumps to #1 since the latter does not guarantee steady traffic.

Agreed. A ranking spike is nice, but holding strong positions over time is a much better sign. I'd rather have steady Top 5 visibility than hit #1 briefly and disappear a few weeks later.

A temporary #1 can be driven by a short-term signal, but staying there requires consistent relevance, authority, and user value. I’d recommend building a ranking that survives over updates than celebrate a position that disappears a week later.

There is nothing called rabking srability anymore. There are lot of fluctiations now based on Google updates.

That makes sense, but it also depends on the stage. For new projects, the priority is often to push for high rankings early on to gain traction and find a breakthrough. For long-term operations, however, stable rankings are what really form a reliable traffic foundation.
