Could I rank for these keywords with a single URL?

Hello ;),

I need to rank for several keywords, I really don't know whether to use one URL or two URLs for these example keywords
(I clarify that these keywords are not the real ones, and they are in another city):
  1. Manhattan Taxi
  2. Taxi from New York Airport to Manhattan
I am currently doing this with two URLs with these example titles:

1. Manhattan Taxi: Cab, taxi fare ...
2. Taxi from New York Airport to Manhattan

But I really don't know if it is double effort because of their relationship and summarizing it only in one URL with this title.

What do you recommend?

If I were you I would write one long article titled Manhattan Taxi, in which I would cover EVERYTHING I know, or feel that is relevant to people wanting a taxi in Manhattan.

And I would put Taxi from NY Airport to Manhattan as a sub-heading (H2) of the main article (Manhattan Taxi) under which I would cover everything about the trip from the NY airport to Manhattan: cost, distance, time, other things that are worth knowing, etc.

Now, I am not American so I'm not familiar with what Manhattan is (I could google it, but too lazy at the moment), but from my point of view it makes more sense to put this sub-heading (Taxi from NY Airport to Manhattan) in an article about New York Taxi instead of Manhattan Taxi, because it makes more sense that way. No matter if Manhattan is a separate town / city, or just a district of New York the people that are most interested in this trip are those who are currently in the NY Airport, or will be there at some point in future and will want to get a cab from the airport to Manhattan, so they will most likely search for such a cab in an article about NY taxi instead of a Manhattan Taxi article.

The point I'm trying to make is that it makes more sense to put that sub-heading in a NY Taxi article than a Manhattan one. But, ultimately, the call is yours obviously :)

I dont think uh should use two urls .. of couse if you want to you can
but better use this "Manhattan Taxi" with long content and with all focused keywords where you wanna rank.. Later you can write write one blog with long tail keywords and uh can inter link this page to that one ... But now just use short url and with long content with proper headings and all ... but again uh should check keywords difficulty too. These all things depend upon ur keyword research and what kind of site is ranking on top 10.

hahaha, I really didn't know what Manhattan was either, I had to look for an example to put something similar in my country, I'm trying to position only a town with its variations (Airport), in this example it's "Manhattan", as New York would be a bit more complicated. So in principle it's just Manhattan with the airport variation.


So I will do it on the home page with the bible about "Manhattan" and its variations in H2 instead of splitting it into two URLs.

IME this used to be the best strategy but some time in 2020 Google started fucking up long articles and mid-sized articles became the top ranked ones again.

I think they're using the user behavior for ranking. Something like how long a user stays in a page divided by page length. If they detect that people are not reading the complete article, it counts as a bounce.

Some shit like that. Longer articles are no longer king. User tracking is king. Focus on behavior. If somehow you can increase user time on page and engagement, that's what you want to be looking at.

To OP: I'd go with one URL per kw.
 
You need to avoid keyword cannibalization and you're running the risk of that here plus over optimzation.

Well, I hope that google did come to their senses and started devaluing long articles cause I hate writing entire novels for my websites :D

However, the reason I suggested him to use one URL only is because of keyword cannibalization. When 2 URLs have similar content the "intelligent" (sarcasm) googlebot will have trouble "figuring out" which page to rank for those keywords that are so similar to each other. In this scenario, it's better to write one single article that covers a topic in depth and have the possibility of ranking for multiple keywords than creating 2 different URLs and ranking for no keyword because the "intelligent" googlebot doesn't know which URL to rank.

But... OP will decide what he/she wants to do. I just said what I would do. And I would do it like I said... well, for this type of article anyway.

You've blown me away, I currently have it with two URLs. And I've realised that it has more work, and one thing @tazarbm says is that sometimes Google gets confused with the URL despite making it clear the purpose such a thing. But the truth is that the two keywords have a super big relationship. Also Google supposedly now has Passages which is more in favour of a single URL, as it says it will understand the different sections of the content.

On the contrary, I think that with a URL, there is less cannabilization, because it gives you the opportunity to use many variations in the anchors and of course in the content.

Yea it depends.

Best strategy is to search for the kws and see what the top ranked competitors are doing.
