Can i use put target keyword in author name?

For example, if im writing an article about "Grooming Golden retrievers", can i create and use "Golden retriever groomer" as my author name for extra SEO benefit?

or maybe i should just stick to one author name for all posts.

It might sound like a silly question, but doing this on Amazon seller accounts can lead to account termination. So i'm wondering about Google.

I am not sure if Google will penalize for it, but this is not a ideal practice in my opinion. There are many legit ways to get the desired rankings and this one looked too 2006 style SEO to me.

Okay let me clear how google looks at this:

On the other hand, the more author a site has, the more "professional" "big" it is
BUT
If your author names are spam, or keywords that's not good.

Create 4-5 authors but never use your domain or keyword as the name. (It doesn't really sound natural that someones name is: football fields for rent in Boston, right?)

I would call that over-optimization and hence a bad thing (penalty in ranking).

Beyond that, I think putting a name (and face) to your blog/ecommerce...helps establish website trust and authority.

it doesn't give any advantage in google

I don't feel you going to face any google penalty for this, Google may simply ignore this due to the repeating phases. You can add your keyword by adding a random name like Roger Golden retriever, If possible, create a few authors with name + keyword (not too long).

The best practice is that if the site has an author it should be a name of a person. Imagine if a keyword such as "Earphone Pro" is an author on a site who writes about earphones or stuff. I don't think this will last as the site starts getting exposure, it's just a few moments before Google catches it. I wouldn't recommend it.

Don't do that, it wouldn't be penalty but it is not good practice

Although I haven't heard of any sites getting penalized for this reason, I don't think it would really give many benefits anyway tbh so I wouldn't.

I've done things like "top toaster admin," but that sounds a bit better.

If you add a profile picture and name instead of the keyword, it will help to gain more trust and authority from the users.

If you go with the keyword, you may not be penalized. But it looks over-optimized. which is not a professional way to do SEO.

I also don’t think that you are not getting penalized, but the author name is known to higher your EAT.
For example, if im writing an article about "Grooming Golden retrievers", can i create and use "Golden retriever groomer" as my author name for extra SEO benefit?
It could be like the others said in this thread that it looks like over optimizing and this is bad practice. I wouldn't even say that Google just ignores that and instead downgrades yor EAT score.

And another thing.. Do you really want to use for every article a new author name and if done correctly create an connected author page for every article you write just to have an "author" with a new kewyword who matches with the keyword on every article?

If you got like 10-20 articles around topic x then having a author as following:
Jane doe
Expert x
Will give you some authority.
But hardly with 1 article.

Authority is a number game.

Reminds me of a saying:
Quantity has a quality of itself.
