No, but not in the essence of working we know today.
People have have always traded with each other, whether it was goods (wheat in exchange for tomatoes), time and services (my time and skills in exchange for a salary), or emotions (I feed my kids because I'm biologically responding to their well fare).
Your family might take care of you if you are unable to work, but you're gonna have to give them something in return, you can be a jerk for 20 years hoping they'll keep taking care of you.

Women are generally better at doing this than men. Men typically require some form of purpose or mission, otherwise they melt/decay/hide (often happens with unemployed males past the age of 20/30). Women have the option of becoming a housewives in most societies & usually manage/find tasks to occupy themselves (if they've not chosen to work fulltime/aren't that ambitious).
This is broadly why pseudo-utopian luxury communism arguments fall flat. Humans want to be productive - we're among the biggest consumers of our environment & have a continuous need for more/to expand. It's built into our collective psychology.

No. Don't get me wrong, I'm against slave labour, workaholism (work for work's sake? That's just as dumb as no work) and I hate psycho clients but you gotta do something, else you're gonna die from boredom. It's kinda sad that due to people's venom we often end up resenting work.
It pisses me off so much... In my family women worked so I always have culture shock when dealing with this kind of women. Lazy asses... In my head, not working was never an option, I just don't understand the concept of fulltime housewives. Nice excuse for laziness... + Conservative religious af.
But wouldn't you still have to manage your parents' company once they die? As the heir?

I've met with people who are groomed to be the heirs of really large family businesses and I can tell you that they were all ruthlessly tireless both at work and at personal training.
It's called a "hobby". You can have many. You can do them whenever you chose to.

My country has a bunch of tea plantation owners, and they just sit back and sip tea while their tea plants grow and wait for their payment from lipton who come once in a while and pluck the leaves and go away. These guys have no work to do other than make sure that the plants are being watered and that enough tobacco water which is the natural pesticide for tea in this part of the world is sprinkled evenly. I hope to lead such a life after retirement.
