Is there any correlation at all between your PPC keywords and your rankings? Does Google like websites that use their advertising platform more than websites that aren't spending as much? Do keywords rank easier if you're running AdWords campaigns for them as well?

I would recommend looking at a few of Rand Fishkin's articles on this. This article on the Moz Blog shows a bit about it: https://moz.com/blog/how-google-adwords-ppc-affects-organic-results

Basically in a nutshell, your PPC spend doesn't directly have an effect on your rankings, but it can indirectly. That's because with increased traffic you also get some more social shares, direct searches, and have greater real estate causing more people to click through to the SERP.

Ah, that makes sense! Thank you! I was just hoping there wasn't a negative impact from PPC.
