So, Ahrefs w/CrUX did a https://ahrefs.com/blog/core-web-vitals-study/ for Core Web Vitals (Google Page Experience Signals).
They used Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX), which is the source of Core Web Vitals data and is data from actual Chrome users.

TL;DR
  • Nearly 33% of websites passed the Core Web Vitals Threshold. This is up ~10% from the previous year, indicating that websites are getting faster.
  • When you break down Core Web Vitals by connection speed, almost no sites on 3G or slower connections are passing. If any of your users are on slower connections or the internet in your country is slower, you’ll be fighting an uphill battle.
  • Websites seem to struggle a bit more with LCP on mobile compared to desktop. It’s likely because of the connection speed and mobile CPUs having less processing power.
  • For FID, it looks like almost no one needs to worry about this metric on their desktop versions, and very few need to focus on this metric in general.
  • CLS is similar on mobile and desktop.

So? What have we learned from this study?
That most of good sites don't pass those vitals? well... I said it long ago. Unless your site is boring and simple, you won't pass those vitals.

It would be interesting to know what effect the vitals have on rankings... I really think minimal.

I was expecting a co-relationship between CWV and ranking.

This might be due to recent features like delay script loading in WP-rocket which delay Adsense code. If Google can implement this feature on their end, then a lot more sites will pass these tests.

It's so funny, Google Page Speed test is such crap, I mean you will never score in the greens, and what they ask you to optimize requires a developer. Good luck hiring a developer to optimize your site speed for your niche site "bestlawnmoverforidiots.com"
