Core Update - Affiliate Sites

Yeah this core update is definately targetted towards affiliate websites and listicle type articles with kws like Best Top etc. I have seen one website of my friend who receives over 3k Users per day solely through info content and his website was not hit. I have seen it with my eyes. Also my client website which is a sass product with blog has not seen any drop in traffic. Even one of my website which is relatively new with few content ( only info) has seen increase in traffic.

In Short my whole analysis points to this "affiliate type websites or websites with keywords like Best restaurants in .... , Best Gym in .... , Best shoes are hit."

So far no traffic is recovered .
See both are relatively new websites with less then 40 articles

Not true, there are a lot of affiliate sites with listicles best XYZ that have all improved

I've seen plenty of info sites take massive hits too. Most drops in traffic are due to websites losing featured snippets.

There is no correlation to anything comprehendable in this update.

I have many sites which are very similar........some going up, some dropping like flies, others unchanged.

Continue appearing whitehat, dont spam your sites with links and wait this shit out.

Nothing.
After the update ended my earnings were done for the whole month, but starting august it started to rise again.
Basically it was something like this: Update started>traffic stays stable>earnings drop>update ends>earnings starts to recover.
As a conclusion, in my case the update basically kept the traffic going but it didn't bring traffic that was converting or buying intending.
After august i started to push content and eventually my traffic started growing and there was an update in november last year which doubled my comissions.
As an update to this, yesterday and today the traffic is slowly recovering and also started getting some oders.

don't be worry, this happened for other blogging sites too.
It maybe temporary, or your pbn has been revealed to them.
if you think second event has been occured, then you have to disawov your links

The update is still ongoing... so no idea what the grand finale will be like.

In last two days rankings has recovered and impressions has gone up for my site.

So websites tanked after update, then websites started to recover hopefullly, but nobody know exactly the reason to avoid it in the future ?

I've had no such recover, on further tanking. Getting barely any traffic.

I've seen complaint on SERoundtable thread about info sites being hit as well.

Other members with affiliate sites also mentioned this. Now Google wants us to pay them to do affiliate marketing.

No one got a good explanation of this removal from serps from John Mu or any of the forums? This isn't a shuffle in rankings and sites going from page 1 to page 4, they are being removed, but still indexed

Looks like they have hit ai scripted automated type sites hard. 185k down to 37.7k and 3million organic down to 69k and some sites have been deindexed too.

Edit = These are NOT client sites, these are part of research and testing we have been doing into this latest Algo.

In the local game. This update has been decent for the sites my JV partners and I own.

1 site is using PBNs and the other main one were focusing on is using niche edits (not expensive ones either).

2 which we've done nothing to (no links, literally not touched in 6 months maybe a year) have bumped up also.

Have ~50 mass page spam style directory sites but never track rankings on those but revenue is up 30% this month. That could be because of the season or some link building that was done last couple of months although they're low quality links.
