I have a writer working with me on re-writing news articles, is Copyscape the way to go with this or is there something else I should be aware of? I'm using the premium version the check the authenticity before I publish the post.

Besides Copyscape, take a few random sentences, paste them on Google and see if you can find any results like this as well.

copyscape premium checker is a very good tool to check the content originality, it is best to use 1200 words per check.
