Simply putting a sentence of the article in quotations into google is a free way to check.

follow the trend If you are not capable of an small investment in order to be sure of your content expect it to go down

I had a funky issue where Copyscape Premium didn't pick up on the duplicate content, but the free Copyscape search did. Another person around here had it too. I originally found it by putting a chunk of the text in Google in quotation marks.

I use Copyscrape, but I also still run it in Grammarly as well.

And I guess due to the method, foreign language content could also be detected by it, what do ya think?

I don't think it detects foreign language content. At least it never happened to me

You can also checkout QueText, like others mentioned. If you open up the site in incognito, you can get 500 words checked. If you have 1000 word article, run the first half through and then close/reopen incognito window and check the other 500 words. Its free.
