What happens if you are making money on copyrighted videos? I have seen plenty of videos on youtube which are monetized and just wondered how they are getting away with it and what would happen if they get caught?
either they were given rights to use or their videos were monetized by the rights owner (matched 3rd party content) so they actually not making any money even ads were displayed
Yeah, YT automatically runs ads on many copyrighted content videos and gives the revenue to the copyright owner if the owner has chosen to allow that content to be monetized. Otherwise, they usually delete it.
Put a few seconds gap at the front, add your own title, make it slightly different size then you're good to go.
When they monetize it's usually the publisher's adsense that gets the revenue.
already life is full of so many risks , why take more!
stay away from copyrighted stuff, use [copyleft] open source or take a permission if you must use or try using a disclaimer (though that wont help much).
When your video gets caught by the content id system I think they don't let you monetize it unless you get the copyright holder's permission or you dispute the claim.
