I noticed a lot more complaints from BHW members about virus and malware attacks and this email exploit got my attention this morning. It strikes at one of the fear of many IM'ers and bloggers in general, the use of copyright material and being sued. I knew it was bogus because of the lack of specific names, details and mention of a web site. I run Avast and went to the web site using Google Chrome, which is the most secure of the browsers with its built-in sandboxing technology. Still that was stupid since Avast went berserk with this web page as a exploit was heading my way. Ideally, if you feel compelled to check a suspicious site out use a VM session or visit under a Linux distro like Ubuntu. Here it is! Real C&D notices come via certified mail not email. Note: This is my second effort to post this warning and I ask the mod to delete the first which failed to save properly the last time.
