Ever happened to you? To use CC0 (creative commons zero) which basically gives you all the rights and then YouTube sees it as copyright violation.

I remember a recent case where someone's original content aired on TV and after that, the YouTuber (original uploader and owner of the content) got a strike.

I read the FAQ on some of these awesome websites which provide HD videos that you don't have to give attribution to etc like Pexels/Pixabay/etc and in one of them, it states that they don't control if a YouTube user marks it as their own so all of the others can get a strike... That scares me a little.

I've read here in BHW about copyright-free stock photos also being noticed by YouTube's system. What's your experience? Thanks for sharing :)

I have never personally come across any issues with still pictures (Copyrighted or not) In my time on youtube and the few videos that I have uploaded using stock footage I have never had a strike listing this videos under creative commons. If I am under the impression that clips I am using are in fact copyright infringing I will use under 20 seconds of the clip to avoid automatic detection and 15 Secs is always safe.

If a youtuber is uploading stock footage as there own and you are receiving strikes and what not report the problem to youtube and there channel could be terminated for fraud. Strikes can also be appealed and while hard to do if you have supportive evidence of your point and an account of at least 6 months it is easy to have these strikes reversed. I would not be worried about this. If you are having trouble with stikes on LEGIT videos shoot me a message.
