Copyright Lawsuit

Hi guys

can anybody share his/her experience in fighting against copyright lawsuit. Usually I get DMCA with some URLs to remove and o relax my head i remove the links. But this time copyright holders filed official lawsuit: applied temporary restriction order on domain reg, hosting, payment processors. They made fake purchases in order to know what payment gateway is being used. they let paypal freeze the funds in the account.


Now all info is stealth and I am located outside the U.S.
defendants list has many other persons (around 50 people). So they are trying to sue many people in one lawsuit. Should I worry?

In each email they write " if you are looking for resolution contact us asap". Should I contact them or just ignore?

Not sure why would they drop that line of contacting them for resolution
 
Only thing I could add a long time I used a copyright image they asked me to delete it I did then no more problems. For your country not too sure if they can do things to you on not since you maybe be far enough away then they have no powers with you being Kuwait but I am not sure on your country. I suspect you can just forget it unless they are trying to charge or fine for you big money for example like $100,000 if it's small money for example like $1000 then I doubt they will do anything more except send you pointless emails or phone calls for like 6 months or so.

If this is a 'stealth' account (paypal), I would just shut down and carry on. The chances of you getting a paypal account back that has been dinged for copyright infringement are slim, unless you totally defeat them in court which 1. will still take time 2. you probably are not able to do.

This is not legal advice, but if I were located out of the US, I would ignore.
The request for contacting them to settle is also a little suspect, but if the paypal account has truly been locked its probably a legit organization/situation.

Out of the country + stealth/non-main PP account suspension + lawsuit against me = Packing Up Shop and Moving On

Edit all your pages so they are not plagiarized. Then tell them to give you proof that you have plagiarized content.

Usually they get lost.

Then I'd tell your payment processor and domain provider that you might sue them for damages for blocking your accounts without a proper reason.

If goes to court you'll win as it's not plagiarized. They'll waste their time. Maybe give us their name, we can research. I think might be some lawyer trolls
 
I wonder if they saying you copy the content, or you're selling a cheap copy of their product with their brand or similar. eg. Prada vs Prazda

I am sure they would have taken screen shots if they are going to the trouble to sue him.
Your payment processor and domain host I guess are a big company so they have better lawyers and would tell you to bring it on.

There must be a reason for them to make a lawsuit against you and 50 other people.
I personally would contact them via a burn email and ask what is happening.
Easier on the mind to work out what is going on that just imagining how bad the outcome will be.
They might just tell you to stop

If you contact them, you admit that you are guilty. If you contact them, they want you to pay a hefty amount of money, to drop the lawsuit. Is best to ignore their message.

ignore everything, don't negotiate, don't admit anything inadvertently. find a local lawyer for advice if you start panicking.
 
Here's my 2 pence, not that it's worth much as I've never experienced it.

They've filed a lawsuit for copyright which includes 50 others. Seems to me they are a company designed to sue for profit.

You should eventually run into one of these companies one day, which is why you don't copyright (Also it's extremely immoral to copyright)

This company has asked you to contact them for a resolution. They are looking for a quick pay-out. By the looks of things, they don't care if they take you to court or not, but a quick pay-out is always a risk free option for them, which is why they would offer it.

Personally, if I had a lawsuit filed on me, and I knew I was in the wrong, I'd be contacting them and paying up before court.

Now here's my official advice: Get a lawyer. They are the only ones who can give you the BEST advice.
