Copy Source Code - Rank on Page 1

I do not know much about seo so if this comes of as stupid please let me know.

Lets say I wanted to have a website for eMule. So emule.com is listed number one on Google. Now lets say I take the number 2 ranked website that has the emule download offer but is not affiliated with emule and I copy the page source.

Now in this source everything is set up. It did something right because there ranked number 2. All I need to do is edit the download buttons to go to my affiliate link. I than buy a new domain lets say emule5.com.

If I make this website live would it have a really good chance of ranking on the first page considering the website I copied has everything set up already and it made number 2 on page 1???

Again if this is stupid please tell me. Im here to learn. SEO is something i know nothing about.

Only Dumb By the standards of copying,, it might work for a close pagerank ..But anything that is duplcated takes a Far backseat to the original product.

This will not work...domain age, backlinks, content. Maybe in some really obscure rare circumstances but I wouldn't count on it.

It's not going to work, you're going to run into massive copyright and duplicate content issues. Plus the main reason that site is #2 is not the content, it's the links.
