You can find competitor backlinks fairly easily with tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz, you get the picture. Though actually copying them is a bit tricky. You'd have to reach out to the same sights and see whether they'll link to you too. Even so, not every competitor backlink is worth replicating anyway.

Ahrefs don’t crawl most of URLs anymore, I guess they decided to start saving money a couple of years ago. However, semrush shows most of the backlinks and it crawls pretty fast.
Don't copy their entire profile. Find high-quality, relevant domains linking to 2 to 3 competitors but not to you, then prioritize those opportunities.
