Copy cat competitor in same niche with same content

We all have competitors in our given income streams, I know this and I understand they will also have simular (but not exactly the same) content amd keywords. Recently I've found an affiliate site that seems to have come out of nowhere and they seem to be ranking slightly worse off than me. Whats worrying, is reading through their articles and content, it looks like they have ripped around 90% and literally changed a couple of words here and there. Page layout, grid layout and graphics, even the fucking photos and product reviews.

Putting the two sites side by side, you would think they're identical. Execept on alot of the larger 4k+ articles, they've included what looks like broken english fluff paragrahs. Which I can only assume is to have a higher word count. I get shit happens, this is IM. But this is a pretty dirty move to make.

Is this a common orcurrence, does it happen often? How can I fight that?

Unfortunately not. I hadn't watermarked or cropepd, changed any of them. In fairness, these photos aren't mine. But the placement and use of them are the exact same.
 
Send DMCA to their mail/contact us page first - ask them to take down all those pages, wait few days, see what happens

If they don't respond, send DMCA to the hosting & Google

Alright, I'll do this immediately. Thanks for the help and responding. If they don't respond, is it quite typical for their hosting and/or google to take action on somthing this obvious?

According to the DMCA law, the hosting (if it is a US hosting) and Google have to respond to your DMCA take down request immediately. Most hosting companies (except DMCA ignored ones which are not in US) take DMCA requests very seriously. But in your case, the pictures do not have your name/brand/logo, so you've to complain about the texts - you have to provide proofs in your DMCA mail that they are violating your copyright.

Not 100% on what you mean. This is a method of trying to pull a fast one?

Not a a very common occurrence but it happens. Why would someone be so lazy they can't even tweak things enough to not look identical.

We all 'copy' our competitors, at least that's what competitor analysis is all about.

well I mean , people here some scrap contents , I do " this already consider one BH way come IM " I have admit this is what excite me.
same for automative , auto like , share etc function , these also consider " BH way "

if you so call wanna be " clean " than you will not come here in the first place :oops:

Yes is kinda piss off someone go copy the your " unique content " also even the photo even the site layout what the heck all same like mine .
but the of the day depend on the niche.

I know your frustration partly you are doing money site. is really piss off that people copy yours stuffs and worst even rank over u thus they got more commission than u .
 
This happens rarely but you can only fight on content if images are not yours nothing can be done about it, again you will have to detail why it’s same content and there’s a high chance you may win it

Totally, I get that. I mean I use competitors for analysis and inspiration. But straight up copying, damn... that's lazy and a real kick in the gut.
 
You can contact them and ask to remove those pages. If they agree that things will be easy if not you can go for DMCA.

this way is more " friendly " , in the sense MOST will willing to take down.
going DMCA , is like last resort despite you email them tell them remove yet they don't
 
He doesn’t own the images and it isn’t scraped content. Anyone still suggesting a DMCA either hasn’t read the thread or doesn’t understand what they’re talking about.

OP I’ve been on both sides of this. Focus on your own site and get back to work there’s not a lot you can do about theirs.

I've written to there site support, regardless (if that even gets to them from there shitty form). Then I'll get to their hosting if i don't hear anything after 24 hrs, then google. But you're right, I think if nothing comes any of that i'll take that shit on hte chin and just keep crackin on. As it stands the content they've added ontop of mine, it's barely even understandable english.

Me being naive and without taking a crack at you, you say you've been on both sides. It's a genuine business model to take another affiliates site and copy with making to content here and there?

Depends what you mean by genuine business model. The site isn't likely to last long if it's shit content and links but it can make a bunch of money.

OK, it's true that we try to emulate our successful competitors by doing RESEARCH. It's fine and legal.
Copying content is not.
 
If you have proof for the stolen content, then file a DMCA report this will help to remove the content. If not better focus on your site add better content and backlinks and improve its authority.
