You beat me to it. I was going to add that when other websites plagiarise your content (especially if they do it verbatim and don't even bother rewording the content), they'll more than likely be penalised by Google. Even if you don't file a DMCA, they'll be removed from the SERPs eventually.
Yes and no - depends who Google crawls first. And, if they crawl the copied content first then you are the one who will get penalized. Might want to look into the rel=author tag.
