Conversions on Embedded vs Hosted videos

Hey!

I've heard that websites rank worse that have embedded videos within the adult niche, and that manually uploaded and hosted videos rank better.
Is this true and would anybody know how big this difference really is.

Would it be worth it to invest into storage space in order to do hosted videos or should you start with embedded videos and move up to hosted?

I have also wondered this in the past, Xvideos let’s you download their entire video DB with embed code, descriptions, tags, etc....

I always wondered if it there was a way to monetize something like that
