Conversions Fallen off a Cliff - anyone else?

Hi guys,

Has anyone else's conversions fell right off a cliff over the last few weeks? My campaigns had a conversion rate of around 6% but over the last few weeks conversions have basically stopped but traffic has remained more less the same - wtf!!

Yeah I tried to post it in a sub forum of this and thought I’d included a reference to it in the thread title -oops.

I run an email marketing software campaign, getting the same levels of traffic but conversions have just stopped. It’s more B2B focused, so would have expected traffic to have disappeared as well.

Was just trying to see if others have noticed anything similar.

Don't u think people are just clicking wondering but they don't buy ? that can be possible, btw do u track they add to cart if it's actually like an online store or something like that

Yeah I expect so but it was more because it was consistently converting so well before but then suddenly stopped. As it’s more B2B I would have expected the levels of traffic to have dropped off as well, but maybe it’s people looking for when things to get started up again.

Just don't burn money and wait for things to ease up

Yeah this is what I’ve found so strange, the levels of traffic are still the same, if not higher with the cheaper CPC but conversions have gone way down. I’m hoping it’s just people doing some research during the downtime and then it’ll pick up again.
 
So it depends on many things, such as your ad copy for example...

People still search stuff, they will still click stuff that they think may be free, make them money etc... Offer free trial or something and hope they stick around later.
During these times if tons of SaaS offer free months, longer trials etc... you should realize that's how it is. Those free months etc. are not just because they are such great people, but because people spend less now, so if you hook them for free now you MAY retain them later when they can

The company I am doing the campaign for actually has a very decent free trial that was working like a treat. That’s a good point about other providers enhancing or introducing free trials of their own during this period, that was my next thing to look into.

IMO its heavy shaving starting April 1st. I work with many affiliates in niches where you are basically signing up for info for free. No purchasing. 2 affiliates are doing great.. though they are smaller and i have contact with the owners. The last one i work with is MaxBounty. I only have contact with my rep. Conversions dropped 60% started on the first of the month..

I believe they are losing money with certain things due to the pandemic and shaving hard on everything else to make up for it.
 
My sales has fallen to zero.. Trying now to promote "how to make money online" products/services..
 
Yes i noticed this also, traffic was the same but conversion rate dropped. And now even my traffic wen't down. But that's becouse youtube suspended my main account.. I have to get back to work now.
 
Had a couple of conversion come through but in the end have decided to pause from tomorrow after reducing the budget by half, much larger competitors have also scaled back right back too apart from a couple who have money to burn.
 
It would make sense traffic would remain the same or increase. People are locked in their homes, jerking off, jerking off their dogs and clicking on your ads.

But a lot of them are just click happy and have no intention of buying. Just making the keyboard sticky until they can return back to their regular lives.

But thats just me and i could be wrong :)
