    Why?

Simple.. you'll be strengthening the weaker side of your brain.

I use my right hand to move my mouse and I am very fast and accurate with every movement I do. When I switch over to my left hand, my movement is sloppy... sometimes I hit the wrong buttons ETC.

I know myself that I'm a left brain thinker so it comes as no surprise to me that my left hand is weaker/less coordinated. I over analyze shit and I'm not as aware as I'd like to be.

Just switch it up so you are exercising both sides of your mind. If you want more information, check this.

    http://painting.about.com/od/rightleftbrain/a/Right_Brain.htm

It's not 100% foolproof. You could be left handed and still be more left brain dominant or you could be right handed and be right brain dominant. It's still good to switch your position up because the left hand is controlled by the right brain and the right hand is controlled by the left. Exercise both sides instead of constantly using one side of your body/brain.

Since we are all on the PC all day, might as well take advantage and switch up our routine for maximum benefit.

I have been doing that for years, started doing so to avoid injury (wrist)

And it works pretty well. matter of training.

    Lol, it's ok! =]

Smart guy. I always start to do it for one day and get lazy. You have to have very good concentration because it is very, very difficult to stick with it. You just want to switch over to the usual way of doing things.

I use both hands very well as I have been doing it for years. Challenging yourself to do tasks different is one major way to prevent memory loss. It keeps your brain challenged. This same concept can also be applied to things like eating with the other hand, and other such common daily tasks.

I use my left hand when playing games with the controller pad. The right is for the buttons.
My left hand is also used to type when I am using the mouse with the right.
I use the left hand for the touchpad on the Mac sitting left to me.
    Damn, I need third hand.

Definitely helps with memory loss. You can apply it to all types of everyday tasks, I specifically mentioned the mouse hand position because most of us are on the PC all day making money. ;)

Yeah, I always use the left hand to type as well. I had to switch it up because I want to improve my weaker qualities. I truly believe that this can change your personality as well, so I thought it would be good to mention.

this will not train the other side of your brain. it just has to do with habit.

It won´t "really train" your other side. But It is really worth to try out.
I am a both sider so I can play guitar in a different way but write with right hand. But when I played alot of strategy games I changed my mouse to my left hand. It REALLY helps alot. I also gained alot of hand coordination with both of my hands. And it really helps your brain abit ;)

My mouse is designed for right handed people, super uncomfortable using left hand. I also keep right clicking when I mean to left click haha

    Very scientific answer.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurobics

Switching up your daily habits will lead to activation of different parts of the brain. Kind of common sense. If you keep doing the same thing everyday, your brain will adapt to it and do it subconsciously. Throw something new at it and it builds new neuronal pathways.

There is no scientific evidence that it 100% improves your right brain, but I and a ton of other people would be surprised if it didn't. I can literally FEEL my right brain being activated more when I am using my left hand as opposed to my right hand.

If you are LEARNING how to use your left hand better, guess what? Your BRAIN is learning too. Either way your brain benefits, whether or not it's the right brain specifically.

    I disagree, read the above.

I agree with you. Just disagree with the "will gief your brain daa uber sk11LzZz!!11". It helped me also but since I am doing alot of stuff with my left hand instead of my right, simply switching the mouse wasn´t thaaaaat awesome for me.

Still agree with you. Count that just for me please and not for the average person.
