Content That Converts

I assume this is about sharing tips (on good copywriting) we have used or came across. Here's one from John Carlton:

Interview The Product Creator / Author About How He Came Up With The Idea

Carlton's idea is to find that human element...that "something" which the audience and potential readers can relate to. He claims that it's through this technique that he came up with headlines that really boosted his conversion rates.

I can't completely recall the headlines, unfortunately, but I'll get back here and add 'em.

I have a feeling that keyword research is going to become less important. Instead one may be better off using that time to actually learn about the niche they are in. If you are writing a large amount of quality content for a site, you will rank for more keywords than you probably would have even found through keyword research. As it stands google has to keep improving quality of their results, if results were determined by who could spam the most BS they would lose users very quickly.

Quality content will increase your conversion rates, I believe a big trap for newbies (Myself included) is that we believe traffic is directly equal to conversions. This is not necessarily the case as we are dealing with actual people with questions. This means that a few clicks from a highly targeted ad to a highly targeted page can be more profitable than thousands of clicks to a spam ridden page.

I believe the goal of a good campaign should always be to increase your conversion rate to traffic ratio through testing and implementing new strategies and content. The more actual ROI a site makes the more you can invest in it and other projects.

Keyword research is important and must be done with the aim of understanding the audience. :D

As for traffic and conversions, both are equally important. You may have a landing page that converts REALLY well, but if it doesn't receive enough targeted traffic, chances are, it still won't be profitable enough. That said, ranking for the right keywords (and therefore keyword research) is STILL and just as important as crucial for a profitable campaign.

Just my two cents.
