Hello everybody, I will eventually be interested in hiring a content writer for a website I am making and want to make sure I am informed when making deals.

Currently I have been writing my own product review articles.
Doing this has required both research and writing.

For my research I identify information for about 16 features of the product
For my writing, I write about those 16 feateries about the product.
It usually comes out to around 600 words for a review article along with a row in a spreadsheet identifying each feature to be later used in a comparison table.

For me, an inexperienced writer, it takes me about 2hrs per article. A lot of the time is spent researching.

When outsourcing this, do writers charge extra fees for research or is it assumed to be included when writing?

If it is not included what are rates for content research + writing?
I've heard writing is usually around 5 to 10 bucks per 500 words, tho this estimate does not seem to include research time.

Usually, it's included in the price. Never heard of someone charging extra for the research.

Hi, @elementis0. Research is usually included in the rate for content writing. However, there are writers who charge extra if the topic requires a heavy research.

Have you hired your writer already?

Research would not typically be charged as an extra. If the writing does require more time, then the costs would typically be adjusted accordingly per article.
