I am bored and feel like sharing some tips for people that are running content lock sites.. This is going to be random, but hopefully have some decent information..
I see alot of people confused on which lock to use, which networks to go with etc. Let me start by saying the information here is based on my personal experience.
You have 2 simple choices here. You can join a network with a in house lock. Or you can get your own lock and run offers of your choice.
1. Network with lock - Although this makes things alot easier, it also cuts down on your profit. A user has to do much more to convert into a lead then if you were running your own lock. Conversion rates will also be lower which will also lower your total revenue.
Some of the Content Lock networks I think of off the top of my head are Dollarade, AdgateMedia, BlamAds, CpaBeyond, etc.. (I run my own lock and have never personally used any)
2. Running your own lock.. I recommend doing this obviously.
You have lots of choices here. You can run incent only offers, which allow content locking (Most networks have some just ask you AM) or you can go the BlackHat way. (Hide referrer, Spread out traffic, Run all the zip and email submits you can find)
I recommend Meathead123's lock which can be found here:
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...tent-locker-triple-your-income-overnight.html
It is worth every dollar. It does exactly what is says..MAKES $$$$ & Meathead provides great support. I saw a 5% increase in my conversion rate once I switched over from BHCB (CPA Convert Lock) which is huge for me.
The choice here is up to you. Personally I will put in the extra work and manage my own lock. Only a hour of work a day and I can make 30% more over a months time.
When Running TV - Movie Sites
One way to increase revenue that I see people take for granted is Graboid. Yes there conversion rate sucks, yes they skim a decent amount, BUT at the end of the month it is extra $$$ that you wouldn't have. If you are running a lock, the user already made you money to access your site, so once they get in why not try to get more from them? They also pay Paypal with no issues and its easy to add to your site.
When you are Uploading to Youtube, Posting on Facebook, etc. Link users to the specific page you are discussing. If you are talking about a specific show and episode, link to that episode. Make sure the user can see the video behind the lock. If they know you have something the chance of them completing a offer is much higher.
If you do not have the episode(or whatever video you are locking), do not want to host (or embed) the best thing you can do is this... Make a simple .GIF of a Video player. Set it up so it looks like it is buffering and lock that page. SIMPLE and the user still thinks you have the video. You can also go one step forward, and make the video a click-able link... When the user clicks the video (Like hitting play) it will link them to the direct Graboid download link. BOOM. $$$
That's all I have for now. I will keep adding to this thread as I get bored. Its always good to take a break from work!
If you have any questions ask them here. If you PM me I will not answer.
