    Hi,

    I need your help.
I set up a website in the celebrity workout niche, offering workout&diet plans of one niche of celebrities (You find a lot of info for free about their diet and workout on the internet, but only short articles, I combined it all and made ebooks out of it, which I haven't seen on the internt so far- So I thought it could be interesting) as well as recipes for weight loss.
Everything is saved as an ebook and locked with a link locker.

So if you go to mydomain.com/diet_and_workout_plans you see a list of the plans I offer, with the name and a pictur of the celebrity as well as a short dscription and a call to action. If the usr clicks, the link locker appears.

On the main page I have some kind of blog about that celebrity niche, so there is something to see for free as well (without locking I mean).
The page is made with Wordpress, looks nice and I have an own .com domain for it.

Now the way I promote it:
    - I have a YouTube channel in that celebrity nich with around 400 real followers- My videos get around 1000 views daily, all together. I put the domain link in the first line of the video description as well as in my channel and as an annotation in the video.

    - I also just set up a Pinterest account and created a board, but I don't really know how to t traffic through it, altthough I read some posts here. How the hell do I find public boards? All I find are boards of one person and only this one person is posting stuff

That's it. I didn't expect huge success in the beginning, but it's a lot worse than expected. The site is up for 48h now and all I got are some clicks on my website, also some on the subsite where you can see the descirption with pictures etc. for the workout&diet plans, but ZERO(!) clicks on the Link Lockers (or my tracking goes wrong) and ZERO conversions.

I really thought I'd have more success because of my YT channel. I don't know what to do now and what I'm doing wrong. Can you guys give me advices? Or would you even check out my site (I can pm it to you) to have a look yourselves?

    Thanks a lot!

If I'm reading your post correctly, I think the problem is clearly a lack of targeted traffic.

Condensing your post into a sentence or two:

    • You've got a website, http://yoursite.com, that is about celebrities, but it is NOT about celebrity diet plans.
    • You've got a page on your website, http://yoursite.com/diet-plans, that has celebrity diet plans
    • You're promoting your website using celebrity related videos...videos that are not about celebrity diet plans
    • The majority of your traffic, based on your OP, is coming from those videos and is going to the main domain homepage, which is not about diet plans

If all of that is (or close to) correct, I'm not surprised you're seeing few conversions. The majority of your traffic could give a damn about diet plans...that's not what they came to the site for. If the video isn't about celebrity diet plans and your domains main content isn't about celebrity diet plans then the traffic arriving at your site doesn't care about celebrity diet plans...and your conversions will reflect it.

You've got a funnel in place that is jumping to to the end result of the funnel too quickly.

Traffic interested in celebrities > go to website about celebrities > are directed to celebrity diet plans and asked to convert

See the problem? That's like me knowing you love Honda (as a brand) and then directing you to lawnmowers sold by Honda and expecting you to buy them.

If you have celebrity traffic, which from my understanding is traffic that converts poorly to begin with (just what I've heard/read, I don't know that personally), you should begin by trying to segment that traffic down further and figuring out what you're dealing with and what they're interested in. Easiest way to do this (probably not the most effective, but it would be a start) would be to offer your traffic the ability to sign up to your mailing list in exchange for more news about celebrities. Maybe target the opt-in form so that it mentions the name of the celebrity the article they are viewing is about (they're reading about angelina jolie, so the opt-in form says "join our mailing list and find out what Angie is up to before anybody else!"

Then as you collect these leads, send out emails related to different offers like diet plans or whatever else there is in that niche. Your conversions will be just as poor from the list overall, but your conversion rate on the actual clickthroughs from the email will probably be very good. The benefit is, that you can send out different offers and market the same leads repeatedly so the leads you didn't interest on the diet email, you might get with another (and totally different) offer.

The main take away from this, is that without targeting, conversions will suffer. If you were getting traffic from people searching the web for celeb diets, your conversion rates would be great. If you traffic were coming from videos about celebrity diet plans, your conversions would be great. But you just have traffic that is interested in reading about celebs...they could be skinny, fat, tall, short, kids, grannies...you don't know, because it's pretty generic traffic...and generic traffic converts poorly.
