Sorry if this has been asked before but...
I am looking into locking some content that seems to get a lot of traffic. The traffic comes from organic search because the content is so keyword rich and high quality. The sites pull good coin from some affiliate offers and CPC ads.
Without doing some really risky cloaking behavior, how would it be best to lock some or all of this content to require a CPA but still let g00gle index it? Don't want to lose the organic long tails.
I was thinking of having teaser content and then locking the meat 'n potatoes but that seems like a lot of manual screwing around. Got a few thousand pages.
I realize that anything that locked out users and allowed g00gle in might be black hat cloaking and that is something I want to avoid on these sites. Greedy would kill the golden goose.
Also the SE cache could let some more savvy users find the content without doing the CPA. Acceptable risk.
Any real suggestions on that
