Mix it up, best way.

Poor writers write just for the word count, a good writer writes for the feel of the article.

Just schedules 9 articles for a site, ranging from just under 800 words to 1950 words.

Im doing 5,000 words per post.I am doing it for my main niches though, but personally, I wont go below 1000 words.Thanks

I have plenty of 500 word articles that rank #1.

I don't care if you think longer articles may rank better, because it's still very possible to rank a 500w article.

If you have the funds to do proper SEO, then it's obvious that you're going to get more traffic from 50 articles than 25.

It doesn't matter if it might cost you $10 less per article to rank, if it's longer, because you're getting 2x the Keywords.

My 500-word articles are ranking better than my 1,500-word articles. If you write 1,000 words for an article that should be 500 words, you will never rank it.

But the best answer was given above. Depends on how many words the topic needs.

It also goes without saying DON'T write 25,000 words for how to brush your teeth but you could write 25,000 words on teeth.

You get my point though.

Lately I've been writing 500 word articles and most of them rank either on page 1 or page 2. While the other articles which is 1500 and above words is almost nowhere to find.

It also depends on the keyword difficulty and the niche.

So why don't you just mix it up and see what article length gives you the best serp position.

You can't cast blanket answers like this for every single piece of content. Each target keyword requires a different approach.

Easiest way to do this is to get the average content length of the top 10 results for the keyword you're targeting. Then, shoot for an article that's like 25% longer than the average. Longer is certainly better (for now) when all other variables are held equal.

You can certainly write 25,000 words and cover an entire topic comprehensively, but that will be overkill for every keyword in which you want to rank. You need to evaluate the ROI potential, the competition, and the intent of the target keyword.
