Yes you can. But make sure those are 100% unique, minimum 65% readable and not too much junk keywords or spammy outbound links.

Be careful with content from expired domains, I have found many of them have already landed up with article sites. Also if you check with copyscape it throws up too many false positives. However it is a good source of unique content for various Tiers of backlinks.
I thought about doing this myself, but after putting some effort into it I noticed a good 80% of the content on expired domains is garbage, there's a reason the owners let the domains expire and didn't move the content to a new domain. There's a lot of spun content on these expired domains and crappy articles that look like they cost $2, but non the less you can find some good content, personally for me it wasn't worth the time sifting through all the garbage.

Well, better you could avoid using articles from expired domains as this may lead to penalty. Because the expired domains have been indexed by Google already. As far as I know, you can use articles from de-indexed domains. But you should check the articles before you use them whether it's Plagiarism or not.

There's nothing wrong with taken the most likely outdated content and re-updating it. That's a technique listed on the best back link strategies guide ever (here). Yeah it's not as easy as reposting the content, but you can take the content for a basis and update the info while doing quotes and takeaways....now that's just good link building.

You can use articles from de-indexed domains. Anyway, it always risk using articles on expired domains better you can avoid it else it leads to penalty for sure.
