Content from Book

I just want to find out, I found an Entire Book Created by Reader's Digest that fits exactly in my Niche.

The Book was printed in 1988.

But it has a clear All rights reserved. No part of this book may be reproduced, translated, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic, electrostatic, magnetic tape, mechanical, photocopying, recording or otherwise, without permission in writing from the publishers.

Even after 20 years, does this mean I should rather not put any of this book onto my website ?

Or what should I do ?

I have tested OCR software with it, and it works great.

I know the content is unique on the internet, but just scared that the authors or who ever or even readers digest see it there, then I might have some trouble or have to take everything off, and waste allot of time.

What do you think I should do with this ?

If it is Unique to Google, do you think I can just put it on and see what happens ?

Lol It seems like an Idea, I just don't want to in a years time be contacted and asked for 10 mil if you know what I mean.

But I am starting to consider doing it. Really will help my site allot with this amount of Unique Content on the internet.

There is about 1100 Articles in this Book, that I would love to put on the site, all the articles is about 400 words some longer some shorter. Im not sure what to do, Should I just put it up ? Or rather try and rewrite some of it ? It will take forever.

You are asking this on a BH forum so I go with ticbra. IMHO I would use all the articles I needed and maybe change a few words here or there.

Why not this process : Book > OCR > Spin > Blog

If you are putting those contents as it is so I would recommend you to mention author's names else if you don't want to mentioned author's name, try to modify it and make it in a summary form...

Just put them up and see what happens. If you get a DMCA, take them down and spin your future efforts. If it's all good, you just saved yourself a whole bunch of unnecessary effort and you've got an awesome source of new content.

Double check a few text snippets in Google before you start OCRing - a surprising amount of old archival content has already found its way online.

That's not such a good idea, because any publisher (especially Reader's Digest) is going to tell you to get fucked and to pay them if you say you're going to start putting up their content for free on the internet; it's also going to draw unnecessary attention to the OP's operation.

The OP's problem is not that he's worried about the legality of it (he knows it's not really legal), but rather he's worried about whether he will get busted or successfully fly under the radar.
