I'm creating an SOP for content creation and what I need is a VA (editor) to proof-read and optimize the posts.

For 600-1000 words, how much would you expect to pay per hour?

Of course, you get what you pay for, but is a budget of say USD$ 7 per post reasonable or too low?

Depending on the quality.
I'd say USD$7 is a very reasonable price for a native English to proof read and edit the article.

I believe the market and language has crucial effect on the pricing. Can you share in what language?

I, for example, charge $0.10 per word for a 1000 words article in my native language.

Thanks for all replies - looks like USD$ 10 for 1,000 words is a fair shake...

Also - would you therefore bill per article or by hour? Seems easier to do by article so the parameters are fixed as ar expectations

Does anyone really work for $10 all day? And if someone writes 5 such articles in a day, what quality will there be? I think this will be a superficial article. Clients need articles that will get into the top 1, those that fully reveal a topic in detail, and not for 15th position. Writer needs to understand the topic, read first, then write. As usual, you need to find a middle ground between price and quality, too expensive ones will not buy, and cheap ones will not have quality. In my opinion, you need to do high quality at an average price. $40-50 for 1000 words, for example.
