Content Curation & original content - but how to monetize

Hi,

I started a site about 2 month ago, first off I was curating content from other blogs in that niche. I always let the author know and 99% of the time they are very happy and also re-tweet. After i while I noticed that the name of the blogs get high search volumes (>1000) so I started doing blog intros. I send them a bunch of questions and they send me answers. More or less free content for me and they re-share it. I started with the blogs that have low title and anchor competition. I moved to page 2 in the SERPs a lot and on page 1 for a few but so far I am not gaining lots of traffic.

Any ideas how I could be doing creative link building here to push the articles up?

It is good to latest news and write 2000 words unique content. Then promote that content in social media sites then approve real comments for that post. Try to participate in this way..It is one of the good idea to promote your article soon in SERP.
