Content Change => Ranking slap?

Hi.

I have a site which is ranking for several keywords. But it's converting very bad, and I want to change the entire content. Will Google slap me if I change the content?

I did the same thing for a page of mine few days ago and the ranks have improved. Raised the words number from 550 to 880, kept almost the same kwd density etc.

Might differ though from site to site...

i raised my homepage word count from 500 to 4500. I made very sure i did not dilute the kw phrase density but also not overdo it. My traffic has only been rising ever since. It was a one year old blog and had plenty of links FYI.
