I'd recommend Grammarly, but it's not 100% foolproof.
OP - grammar matters in content writing however it's not all there is to it. Your article could be perfect grammar-wise but if it doesn't add value, it won't sell.
It really depends on who you are selling them to. Some are very picky and others will accept pretty much any content. I have been writing for a few years now and I have been complimented many times for my work, but a few times have also been put down because the person who wanted to buy them did not think that my work was high enough in standards for them.
Basic grammar skills are a must. But perfect grammar? Not necessary, IMO. If I found an article online that added value to my life, which had some minor grammatical errors or misspelled words, would I care? Nope. What you say is much more important than how you say it. That being said, you should master basic English grammar. (Including subject/verb agreement!)
