Hey all,

I wanted to share an issue I've been facing lately and to ask if someone has face a similar situation and knows what might be causing it.

So I have a casino affiliate site and have created dedicated landing pages for casinos. One of the articles I have is about the bonus of one casino with the keyword "Casino XXX Bonus Code".

I write in English and the og:locale of the site is en_GB although I have visitors from all over the world.

This issue is affecting many pages, but I'll use one of the latest as an example, as it's also one of the strangest.

tile of the article is "Casino XX Bonus Code 2024" and I used to rank in pretty much all GEOs if you looked for keywords like:

1. "Casino XX Bonus Code"
2. "Casino XX Promo Code"
3. "Casino XX Bonus Code 2024"
4. "Casino XX Promo Code 2024"
etc.

However, since a few days from now, in many GEOs, I don't rank for keywords 1 and 2 (which are the main ones). I do for 3 and 4 (if I include 2024 at the end) but if I don't include it I can't find it anywhere on google.

If I look for some GEOs like US or UK I rank for all keywords, but for example Malta (where I live), I don't see it anymore and the same happens with many other countries where I used rank for those keywords.

As mentioned, this happens with many pages. Rank in some GEOs and don't rank in others. Or rank in all and out of the sudden, stop ranking in some GEOs.

Did anyone ever see something similar and know what can be done to solve it and rank everywhere?

Thank you for the help!

Hey again! Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? The randomness of ranking / not ranking continues across GEOs and keywords unfortunately.

Thank you for the help

@jpcsm89 This could be due to Google's Geo based indexing. since the search intent and competition vary by Geo's there will be fluctuations in ranking as well the Indexing.

this can also happen due to local algorithm updates also.

Thank you for the reply and the time.

Could you please elaborate what do you mean about googles geo based indexing?

The main thing here is that we rank first positions in geos that are much more competitive but don't rank in others. US, UK and Canada are the ones where we always rank while in others we don't even show for many keywords and articles.

Could there be any configuration done on our end that sends a signal to Google to rank mostly on those?

We still have most of our content ranking worldwide, but an increasing number of recent articles are starting to have that trend of not ranking anywhere else apart from US, UK and Canada

Thank you again for the help
