Content aggregation and getting penalized

Would I get penalized if I created a couple pages on my blog that aggregate content from other sites and blogs word for word? I would still provide the source and add my own commentary.

As long as you are providing your own commentary on the same article/page you should be fine. News sites recycle each others content all the time and Google is ok with that as long as there is unique/relevant commentary around the article.
